How can counselling help?
Sometimes life is difficult. There may be particular experiences, recent or in the past, which you are struggling to cope with. You may be stuck in patterns of behaviour which are preventing you from living life as you would like to. Perhaps things just don’t feel right and you don’t understand why.
Although you may not be sure whether counselling is for you, you may find that during these difficult times, talking with a trained professional can help.
Counselling provides a safe and confidential environment where you are free to explore what is troubling you without fear of judgement.
Counsellors are trained to listen and to help you to make sense of your thoughts and feelings. They can support you to gain insight into how early experiences and significant events in your life might be affecting you in the present, helping you to understand and accept yourself.
Talking to a counsellor can help you to see things from a different perspective and discover ways of bringing about positive changes in your life.
I offer one to one counselling for a variety of emotional difficulties including anxiety, anger, depression, grief and the effects of trauma.
